uplaoding pictures...
« on: March 07, 2013 - 08:16:12 PM »
Can I use imageevent to show pictures on this site, or does it have to be photobucket? Tried posting with my site, but it won't work. Not to computer savy, except "pay" on ebay for Challenger parts....thanks in advance....chris

I know folks here use Image shack, photobucket and another picture hosting site of which I can't remember the name.

What is the problem?

I am trying to post using imageevent, but the pictures won't attach. Maybe a different url or something? It seems when I get to that part, it won't read the info from the picture to allow it through. Tried it on the test post. Thanks.....chris.... I've been reading the forum for 2 years now, but never really posted anything due to lack of knowledge, but I have a really nice car with a story to tell about it, and I think it's time I shared it. I met some of the folks at the Carlisle show, and was made very welcome, but I'm still a bit shy due to lack of knowledge of the whole car thing.....any help would be great!

you dont have to be shy.  i run this place and i dont know anything about cars   the people here are great and will teach you everything you ever wanted to know.
as for posting pictures, if you can get to your pictures directly through a url, ie http://www.domain.com/yourpic.jpg, you can post it here.  so with that said, do you know your pictures exact addresses?

You have 290 pics in your Challenger folder...
When you click on any of the pics in that folder it brings that pic up from the thumbnail to a full size pic.
When you do that look in the bottom left of that page and click on where it says properties.
A page like this one will show up.....

The section you want is the IMG URL for Message Boards.  Press one of the "Select This" buttons next to the size (probably original or large).  And then just paste that into a message where ever you want a picture.

Your message should look something like this

Code: [Select]

I was just going to wait to see if he could find the properties button first, then move to the next step,

i think the jist of how to get it done has been covered.  you dont use the attachment box if your pic is already out on the net somewhere.  the attachment box is when you want to upload a picture on your computer directly to the site.  but its better to host them yourself because those attachments get periodically cleaned out.
