I applaud your work Alan.  :clapping:

I wish I would have known of you prior to purchasing my 1970 pile of trash.

So I didn't work on it at all yesterday unless you count taking my headlight bezel in to be re-anodized...I just wasn't happy with the way they were.

I did get 5 hours in today however it was just on small items that don't really make a big difference, splash shields and such. The trunk is 100% complete, engine compartment is real close and with the exception of headlight bezels the front end is done. A lot of the exterior trim is also on as well as all the emblems now....
Worst part is...now anything that goes on, has to be restored first so the re-assembly is taking a lot longer....

My absolute favorite part of every E Body restoration in the side glass. Today I was able to restore and install the glass in both doors...1/4 windows to follow....

Door handles will have to come back out for the stripe installation next week, but I wanted to make certain all the locks and latches worked properly...

Do you have a picture of the bolts and any hardware that you need to bolt the window assemblies in? My doors are shells and I would like to see what I need to put them together.

There's about 44 bolts involved in assembling two doors. Sorry but I didn't really take pictures of the hardware "before" assembling them. :banghead:

Just lay the parts out on a table (or floor) then start putting the correct number of bolts beside each item. If you have questions about which type of bolt goes where, I'd be glad to help. The regulator take 4 real short 1/4 20 bolts, the three Allen head bolts go in the two up stops and top of the forward track....the rest of the bolts are really just common 1/4 20 bolts with spin washers.... :2cents:

I believe you might be interested in MMC Detroit's fastener reference guide

I agree, certainly "good reading".....Another option is to buy some old rusted out "complete" doors for parts and reference. :dunno:

Great work, Alan!  Thanks for all the documentation of the resto!  Love the color!  :grinyes:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

The AMK catalog (printed version is really good) combined with the MMC book will be everything you ever needed to know regarding most fasteners/hardware for Mopars.
