I actually do have a set of 71 tail lights, I just need new lenses and one of the chrome inner bezels. I had my paint guy paint the outter bezels at the same time he did the tail panel, so the black will match. I'll put them on when I get all the pieces even though I prefer the 70 style. The front brakes seem to be locked up all of a sudden, so I guess I need to figure out what's going on down there before I do any other cosmetic stuff.

Looking good....You should add 1971 Tail Lights though...... :2thumbs:

 :iagree:

It's a confused Cuda if the front and back aren't the right year.
Get the rocker trim and the top door trim on.  Chrome trim rocks!   :2cents:

You definitely want to keep it all one year, and add the trim moulding.  I see so many 'clones' that don't have that extra attention to detail, and it makes wonder what else they skipped.  getting the 'smalls' right is key!

Cleaned up this original 71 console, I think it turned out nicely. When was the last time you saw an original dash pad with no cracks? 😄

Yeah, I'll put a dash mat on it unless I have it in a show.

Took my radiator into a local shop and they were able to fix the few pin holes that they found. They went ahead and boiled it out for me and pressure tested it after they fixed it. It's finally back in the car and the engine bay is basically done. I still have a few small odds and ends I need to finish up, but nothing major. The TTI 3" exhaust system I'll be order next week is pretty much my last big purchase for this car other than new seat covers at some point down the road. I'll get some pictures of under the hood at some point this week.

My next project is getting the front end installed. What is the proper order for the installation? I think I've hear to start with the grill and work my way down. Is that correct?

When you order the TTI system, make sure you order the H-Pipe for the Gear Vendors Overdrive if you are at all considering it in the future.

Looking very nice indeed!  :ylsuper:
"There's no such thing as putting a '70 AAR 'Cuda exactly where you want it. The 'Cuda isn't interested in such things, for they require finesse. Finesse asked the 'Cuda out to dinner once, but the 'Cuda stood it up to go drink beer under an overpass with her hot little sister. As far as this car is concerned, finesse can go stuff itself."

Finally working on getting the interior put back together. I thought I would share my process for restoring original interior panels.

First step is cleaning the panel with soapy water, and then some sort of solvent to remove any grease or oils. I used SEM paint prep made for plastic and leather. Once completed it should look a little ashy.

Then I spray it with SEM adhesion promoter.

I then hit it with about three coats of SEM satin black followed by SEM semi gloss clear coat.

Then step back and enjoy your work. Make sure all of your paint products are made specifically for plastics. I've found I get the best results when I use products all made by the same company. Also be sure that your paint and shop are warm. Rattle cans and cold weather don't mix.
