Finally working on getting the interior put back together. I thought I would share my process for restoring original interior panels.
First step is cleaning the panel with soapy water, and then some sort of solvent to remove any grease or oils. I used SEM paint prep made for plastic and leather. Once completed it should look a little ashy.
Then I spray it with SEM adhesion promoter.
I then hit it with about three coats of SEM satin black followed by SEM semi gloss clear coat.
Then step back and enjoy your work. Make sure all of your paint products are made specifically for plastics. I've found I get the best results when I use products all made by the same company. Also be sure that your paint and shop are warm. Rattle cans and cold weather don't mix.
