Sorry to hear you couldn't find your build sheet.  Do you know if your car was a Hamtramck or LA build car? The VIN will tell you: BP23G0[B or E] ...  B - Hamtramck, E - LA.  The LA built cars didn't get build sheets.

Can you tell if it was a vinyl top car?  You would see the holes (if they were filled in) from the trunk inside. I was just curious.  Also, can you tell if you dash is Black, or a Dark Grey.  Gran Coupes could come with P6A8, a dark argent interior; not quite black. Do you still have the overhead console? is it Black, or Dark Grey?

from the circumstantial evidence (Black under just about every hidden surface) it appears it was black from the factory. my  :2cents: for what it worth.

So you think Vitamin C Orange (EK2), versus Hemi Orange (EV2) is where you might go?

Yes, it was an LA built car. The car does still have the overhead console, but I can't remember the color. Are you referring to the material covering the console, or the plastic? I'll have to check on the vinyl top holes. After removing the rear interior panels, there's a whole lot more black under there. I've considered a number of different color options for this car, but I still haven't made up my mind. If it's orange, it will definitely be vitamin c and not hemi orange.

This is like a good mystery trying to decipher your cars origins  :clapping:

Can you take pictures of different areas to share with use, like in behind the sail panels the dash layout etc etc. I am wondering if the car had been painted properly and if not they would have left the windows in so their may be a chance of finding another colour or vinyl as you pull the windows out yourself :2thumbs: talking front and rear windshields of course

I am liking the idea of you putting it back to original now that you are finding a crap load of Black  Black Gran Coupe decked out the way your talking with an AAR hood would still be awesome

More pictures. The car did have a vinyl top at one point. And yes, that's fuzzy shag headliner. :)

It would be awesome to find out what the vinyl roof was, their may be remnants of it somewhere underneath some of the interior trim that was glued on, imagine if it was a Black Gran Coupe with a Gator Grain vinyl roof  :jumping: :wow:
It was a Black car for sure, now we can see that.

I'm thinking that wasn't quite factory!  :roflsmiley:  The original material is almast an exact match for today's headliner material, just not as thick. Maybe if you take a peek under that glorious fuzzy shag, maybe there is a remnant of the original.

We are all enjoying you uncover your mystery! keep the information coming!

Believe it or not, I'm actually going to leave the headliner alone for the time being. It's in good shape, kinda makes me laugh, and my money has more important places to be spent. There are six switches wired into the overhead console that I have no idea what they are connected to, so I'll be removing the console just to get the switches out of there. We'll see what I find underneath it. As for the hood, I probably should specify that I have a sport hood, and an AAR hood for the car, but I prefer the sport hood. That's probably what I'll use. I'm looking at some aftermarket colors and so far these are the two I like the most. I need to have someone do some photoshop  magic for me. What do you guys think?

Maybe, but as far as i know LA built cars didn't come with a build sheet. but why not take a peek?!

I like the Atomic Orange, that would look pretty wild, especially with an Argent tail panel!

I vote for Black!  'Course I prejudiced towards Black "Cudas.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Well, at this point I'm leaning towards a Vitamine C AAR clone. It won't be a perfect clone as it will have a 440, but I'm just in love with the orange and blacked out hood look.

So are you going with the 1970 EK2 Vitamin C, or with the Atomic Orange that was on the truck?  I kinda like the Metallic Atomic Orange look with the Organisol Black.

Post pics of the process when you can!
