That would work so well with a Burnt Orange interior, please say that this is going to be the colour now, it will be unique and stunning at the same time  Loving the combo, and a cloth insert would be way cool too

I owned a 70 Gran Coupe for more than 20 years. Gran Coupes rule to me, as I really hate seeing Gran Coupes turned into AAR's or just another shaker 6bbl. conversion. By the time those who choose to clone their Gran Coupe to a AAR they spent just as much on the complete restoration as it would be on a real J code ride & if the time & money for that car is there to purchase. Seriously, I am ALL for keeping it a Gran Coupe with the badging & such. Here's what I did to my 70 G code Gran Coupe back in the mid 1980's, when parts were readly available at salvage yards & cheap newspaper deals that you ran out of your house with a fist full of cash before the next guy to get that car. I made my Gran Coupe looks like a 70 'Cuda 340, adding a 70 scooped hood, red line trim in the grille (all 3 pieces), road lamps, louvered rocker panel covers, blacked out the tailight panel & added the 4 piece surround trim, repop wing, dual exhaust valance & the tips as well to finish it off. Since I swapped a 340 later in life, I had a Tiger in a sheeps clothing. The car looked just like a Cuda 340, BUT I retained the Gran Coupe badges! I had 340 MAGNUM on the hood though, instead of cuda 340. My car was originally green with green interior, but the interior was really raty when I got the car, so I swapped out whatever black interior E body parts I could find, incluidng recovering the headliner. I added whatever I could inside the car of options I could find, including POwer windows, 6-way, defogger & map light. I retained the standard dash until 5 years before I sold it, useing a real 70 Ralley dash & made my underdash wiring into a rally dash harness (my tach wire was a story in it own, I used correct color wire & ran it in & out of the firewalls original socket location) Someone painted the car white before I got it, so I retained it white, still don;t why I did that but oh well, life goes on. My point: Your keeping it a Gran Coupe & thats 112% cool. I kept mine a Gran Coupe. The more we all keep Gran Coupes the better. Someday I will be able to finish my 72 cuda project & I will make this one my own as well, but I have a Gran Coupe headliner & ALL the right wiring to put it in my 72. NO it will not be a 72 Gran Coupe, it will be my 72 Barracuda 360 automatic driver car.

Gran Coupes are getting rare and its hard to find GC specific parts. But of course, in the end its your decision....

No way am I going all original with my gran coupe. FY4 with gold interior. Gold on gold on gold! I think it would be overkill. I haven't the slightest ideas why someone special ordered it that way.

I'm going with a yellowish gold exterior and black interior.

I have also thought about painting it navy blue metallic. Hmmm...

I appreciate everyone's interest and opinion on what to do with this car. I've finally decided. You'll all have to wait until the car starts to get sprayed before you'll know. :) I have a few small projects to do before I take it to my paint guy, so the plan is to get it there by the end of the month.
