General rule of thumb.
 These foam type gaskets are "usually" used to seal the interior compartment or trunk compartment(conected to the interior), not only from moisture but fumes as well. With that in mind, there wouldn't really be a need for this type gasket between the master cylinder and brake booster. So I agree with you, it's probably used for a standard master cylinder to firewall set-up :thumbsup:

Good to know. Do those other two pieces between the booster and reservoir look correct?

So I started a separate thread for this question, but I'm surprised at how few responses I've got so far. Do manual brake cars and power brake cars have a different bolt pattern on the firewall? If they do, is it as simple as drilling the proper holes on the firewall to use a power brake booster?

My car does have two studs that come through the firewall. Do you know if the bracket inside the car is any different other than the studs?

turbo,
I converted from manual drum to power disc.  everything bolts to the firewall with no problem.  what you need is the pivot assembly that connects the rod from the booster to the brake pedal.  the geometry is different, so it has to be replaced, and I don't think that is being re-produced.  All of the lines and hoses are available for a conversion, as long as you have the booster and disc spindles.

Okay, finally got the brakes sorted out today. Just have two more lines to bolt on and they're done. I pulled the front suspension and am in the process of rebuilding all of it and putting it back together. Everything seems to take longer than I think, but it's coming along.

Finally installed the motor yesterday, things went very smooth. This is the first time I've ever installed one from the bottom and I'll never go through the top again. The entire motor was installed and bolted in in under and hour.
