Painted Number on A833
« on: March 09, 2013 - 11:56:57 AM »
When I cleaned my transmission a few years ago I noticed a faint trace of a 3 digit number on the side (see picture attached).  I'd like to re-apply it but not sure what the numbers are (looks like it might be 189), or what the correct size is supposed to be (I have already painted the trans with cast paint).  Any help in knowing what the number should be, were they different for different years, what color it should be, and what the significance or meaning of the number was in the first place, would be helpful.

The three digit number is located on your broadcast sheet if you have one.
What year/style car ?
What size engine ?

789 is correct for an AAR Cuda and should be blue
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

It must be 789 then, as this is the numbers matching trans for my AAR.  Are there stencils available for this and any idea what shad of blue to use?  Thanks.
