I take it you're thinking about the rears; I have the XV Level II 3-link suspension. I used Dr.Diff offset spring hangers to relocate the LCAs invards so they go clear of the wheelwells. I also have a B-body rear axle. Then I messured a thousand times, and ordered the wheels with 6.5" backspace.

So you have 12" wide wheels w/6.5" BS using a b-body ear and dr. diff 1" offset hangers?

W/that, you can fit 335-30-18s?

I would be in for a hood, either Carbon / fiberglass or Carbon / Carbon.  The Dry carbon is too much for me.  Couple of questions:
1) I assume these would take all factory hinge and latch hardware?

2) Since these are AAR hoods will they come with the hardware etc in the hood for the pins to come through?  If not will the holes at least already be there?  I don't know anything about mounting hardware into a carbon fiber hood.

3) What is the stability difference between the carbon/fiber hood and the 100% carbon hood?  Will these these hoods shake rattle and roll comparable to a stock hood while running down the highway or will they be waving a considerable amount?

Thanks,
Chad

Hi, I do not know the answer to your questions.. I've been in contact with anvil auto, but they have a lot to do, so this is a project that is kind of iced right now, but they do like the idea and want to make it happen at some time. If it makes economical sense. But I'll note your name.

Hi, I'm tired of my curved AAR hood. I've been in contact with Matt over at http://www.anvilauto.com/ about making an Carbon fiber AAR hood. He was very excited and told me this is a hood he wants to make. However he is very busy and have several new products in que to go into production, so unless I could find 8 people who are willing to put down a payment, it would have to wait. But he does not know how many hoods he could sell. So i'm gonna post this on a couple of forums. It will be a direct replacement, bolt on hood.

The price would be:
* $875 for carbon/fiberglass.
* $1650 for 100% carbon.
* $3000 for dry carbon.

For those who wonder (like me), Dry carbon is the method of producing parts in an autoclave using high pressure and heat to catalyze the resin which is also called pre-preg, whereby the carbon cloth has the resin impregnated into it and layers are put together in a mold and the heat sets the resin up. In wet layup processes, the resin is a liquid that is catalyzed using a chemical that sets off a chemical reaction (like mixing two parts of epoxy glue together). Dry carbon, also known as pre-preg, is how aerospace and race car parts are made. It is the ultimate process for light weight and strength.

I agree. Leave the carbon.  Lots or ricers out there with it.  Why not a good ole Mopar.
Has anyone purchased one yet?

After having several AAR fiberglass hoods on my cudas of the years I decided that a all steel body is better for durabilty for the street. The carbon fiber hood sounds good but most of us might be priced out of the market for what its worth. I got tired of messing with them never fitting right , bowed hoods , rattling ,the steel hood feels more solid to me IMO.  :bigsmile:
