ok, so I have run all the wires from the trunk mounted battery and also the msd. a question I have is when I hook up the starter relay up front do I connect the factory wires to it as well? I used this diagram.  thanks for the help electrical is not my strong point.

the only change I made was that I did not use the connection point and that red 8 ga wire went directly to the starter relay

By factory wires, do you mean can you still use the solenoid post as a junction point? Yes if that is the question.

hey dodj, yeah I hooked up the factory wires from the harness to the starter relay so I would have power to the dash and also I hooked up the neutral safety switch from the clutch pedal to the same relay and that 8 ga red wire from the trunk to the post on the relay as well.I think it is all good now. I bought all new wiring for the entire car as the original wires were hacked up and I think wiring is not a place to try and same some money.

again thx for your help, its nice to have you guys when you start to second guess yourself. still hoping I can finish the car by summer and get it to some shows where I can meet some of you guys in person but it may be a stretch.  bruce

You should end up with one empty post on the original solenoid.

No, that is for the NSS and you should make sure you connect that one up.
But  disregard my last post. I was thinking, with the rewire you would end up with no wire on the saddle clamp just below the threaded post, but realize now that you will have a wire on it to go to S terminal on the trunk solenoid.
Sorry!

Ok, back from Mexico (spent 40 days there) and back to work as well, I am going to order what i need to finish the challenger like the alterkation/exhaust and lots of smaller stuff. just a couple questions.

#1- wondering about a rad?
#2-what battery, it's in the trunk, was thinking red or yellow optima?
#3-also what type of carb & size?

still trying to make it for new hamberg, going to be tight.

any suggestions are appreciated.

thx bruce

just a few pics of some progress, rich wet sand and polished the car last week  i have a new apprieciation for a guys who do that, it takes quite awhile to complete. he said he has a few more hours to go. i cant believe the difference it makes, pictures dont do it justice. also installed the battery done a test run fitting the rad, it had a very slight twist to it but not bad. also bolted on the carb and modified the breather, the breather lid is pretty much sitting on the top of the carb to get maximum clearence and then i built down from there.  Thx Bruce

Absolutely. As the car rolls by the red bumblebee will cause necks to snap.  :2thumbs:
