Yeah Bruce, they will have the best price on TTI exhaust and Vintage air too for future reference . I'm just lucky they are just down the road from me.

ok so let me tell you electrical is not my forte and I get lost in it all but I will be running a trunk mounted battery so im trying to figure out how everything will work like the alt/starter/power to inside. I would like to have as little wires as possible in the engine compartment, msd box will be under dash and  do I use an alternator with a built in regulator? anyway I am sure it's been done lots by guy's that know what their doing but I am not one of them, any input would be greatly appreciated.  thx bruce

I moved the MSD and battery to the trunk of my '71 Challenger.  I hid the MSD box behind the battery for a cleaner look.  I ran the battery cables through the frame rail, pain in the a$$ to feed through by the way.  All other wires were ran in a loom along the inner fender and pinch weld and then through the splash shield into the engine bay.  I put all the wires in the engine bay in a black loom to hide them too.  I bought a 75 amp 1-wire alternator.

ok thx dfrazz, yeah I would like to have a clean look as well, what did you do with your voltage regulator and the starter solenoid? I seen that some guy's have the solenoid back there as well,  MSD works fine all the way back there? sorry for the questions like I said it's Greek to me. have you got a diagram of what you did.  thanks again  Bruce

I moved the regulator and solenoid  below the master cylinder low on the firewall to hide it and the wires.  MSD works fine in the back.  Here is my wiring diagram which details the new wiring I updated, but obviously not all wiring.

hey thx john, some good info for sure (if I knew what I was looking at lol), im sure once I have everything ready to go it will come together. there is a few different ways to go about it by the looks of it, just want a simple no hassle clean look if I can. like not sure if I can use a one wire alt. and if I can use one with built-in regulator. dfrazz has his MSD in the trunk which is nice and out of the way also some have the ford style solenoid there as well. oh no starting to babble on, its just confusing and irritating when you should know something but don't.  thx Bruce

The Ford-style solenoid in the trunk is a smart idea. It keeps the heavy 0 gauge wire from the battery to the starter from always being "hot". From the trunk you got a good 12' +/- run to the starter, and since that wire normally isn't fused, if it rubs through somewhere and shorts with all those amps you could wind up with a nice fire.
