Hey thanks everyone , all the positive comments means a lot coming from guys on this site as there are a lot of beautiful cars here for sure.

And yes BFM_cuda it is starting to get to me being so close! I just ordered the alterkation tonight and will order the exhaust, carb and what ever is left this week. Still planning to have it ready for moparfest in new hamburg so I have about 86 days left, sounds like a lot but I work away and I will have something like 3 and a half weeks to finish it so we will see. I will see when the rest of the parts arrive and that will tell me if I will make it, I don't want to rush the last bit so if not I guess it will be the year after.

Thx again.  Bruce

Thanks again everyone, looking at ordering the TTI 3"exhaust i was thinking of changing to ultra flow muffers instead of the super turbos, anybody running those?

Stunning...
Stripe will set it off nicely. Be extra diligent on color match (Pantone correct).
Have you decided on a tip design for your modified cutouts yet?

thx thumper, i have some interior material left over and my body guy is awesome i will mention the (pantone correct) as i have no idea what that is lol.

I was thinking of building the tips out of stainless, maybe same style as original but on a smaller scale to fit the cutouts? or just see if i can fine some that look ok in that spot, just looking at the new challenger tips they look to be close to the size so maybe i will measure one to make sure. the problem is the tail pipes won't be directly in the center of the cutouts so im sure i will have to fabricate something there.

thx Bruce

Possibly look into a SS set of old Cuda repop tips. I would assume they are close to the same overall size as the Challenger ones. You could then shave left side of one and right side of other and reweld. This will provide pipe offsets. IMOP narrowing the split challenger ones would look odd.

yeah it would be easier to modify the ss cuda tips for sure, maybe i will see if i can find a junk set and do the mods on them first and if it looks ok move on to the new ones. thanks Mike

Well I ordered the alterkation  but on the web site it was listed for $4945 with motor mounts  and a brake kit, but got an e mail saying that was the price using the old rack which they ran out of so now the new one has the flaming river unit and pushed the price to $5650. Quite a jump but what do you do and I guess the new unit  has a better turning radius.

Thx bruce

I researched racks for a long time and ended up with a Flaming river rack, beefier and like you said better turning radius , also  the size of the torsion bar is .235” . Should be a firm feel not light. They are not cheap though....  I'm facebook friends with Bill Reily . He seems like a good guy, straight shooter!  :2thumbs:

Yeah I think your right brad, it will be a better unit for sure. I just wish I had got everything else  before the loonie tanked which is what is killing me now.  :villagers:. Ordered the exhaust so have carb driveshaft and a few more odds an ends I'm sure. What's your take on the Evans waterless coolant?.

Thx bruce

I've never had any experience with it? Neil has (CP)  Seems expensive and what if you need more on a roadtrip? It's not exactly  commonly available. :-\

hey guy's, should have the alterkation in a few weeks so i was going over some of the info and noticed that the wilwood brake system that is coming with it says not to use DOT-5? I was really hoping i could use it because of the issues with the paint with the DOT-3 stuff. anybody running DOT-5 in their wilwood system.

Thanks Bruce
