thanks toxicwolf, I still have some measuring to do on that, it's clear in the back but i think it touches the brace that runs across the hood. i never had time to screw with it before i flew back to work, i think i can make it work but may neen some more tweaking.

Well i talked with bill from RMS and wow he is a great guy to deal with. I am using the flaming river rack (which is very nice) and it has a master spline and so does the steering column so when i centered the rack and the column the hole for the roll pin was out 90 degrees,  i believe the older racks Bill used were just splined and you could put the u-joint on anywhere you needed. so i called bill and he thanked me for bringing it to his attention and is sending me one with the holes moved.

Just have to say nowadays great customer service is hard to come by so when you speak with people from company's like RMS, Roseville & bouchilion to name a few
it's not hard to figure out why they are doing so well. :2thumbs:

Very nice.  Where did you attach the crane to lift the body up to install the engine from below?  Most below install pictures I have seen use brackets attached to where the front bumper would mount.

Hey thanks larry, well i took the advice of alan who has done a lot this way. there are two holes in the frame just in front of the k-frame bolt holes, i used a rubber coated big hooks and lifted from there never left a mark as there is not really a lot of weight, i just used your average 2 ton hoist and it was not under a lot of strain at all, when i lifted the motor and trans onto the front end that was a lot heavier it seemed. It was the first time i installed one this way and i will always do this way from now on, no messing around with anything like headers/trans/starter. took me about 30 minutes to have it bolted up and with a stock k-frame i am sure it would be quicker.

My suggestion is to contact Alterk... Steering pressure requirements are first order of business. I imagine the braking does not utilize much fluid flow. I converted mine awhile back and am utilizing a factory 5.9 Magnum motor pump setup. Works smooth and steady.
Good luck.
Mike.

just a couple pics of the p/steering pump, alt and fan set-up. all the wiring is finished and is all working as it should, had a couple ground issues but nothing major. exhaust is finished minus the tips, brakes are bled going to bleed the clutch tomorrow. getting there just need a drive shaft and carb fill everything else and fire it up. :jumping:
