Well finally had some time to run the hemi down to Tim (forhemisonly), Like everyone said he is a great guy to deal with and his shop is awesome. He is going to do some upgrades on it as I pretty much told him to do what he does best. Should be ready when I get back from Mexico in the spring. :jumping: :bananasmi

On a side note I sold the Fargo L-700, I needed room and also I have the road runner going to my body guy soon so I figured I better finish both cars before taking on anything else.

I like where you went with the exhaust thru the tailpan.

Thanks Yellow Thumper, with the springs move under the frame and straight, they pretty much stuck in about a 1/4" of the original openings so I closed them up about 2" from the outside to cover them and them found half decent tips to fill the new opening.

Well just took the car on its very first road test, Went very well it stopped, went straight and ran great. One item is first gear is a little harder to get in but the rest is perfect maybe a little adjustment on the rod to get it in first easier(  I would lengthen the rod I assume ?)Just eased it around our little town but my god it feels like the motor could destroy the car but very well behaved. Im pretty pumped right now. :bananasmi :jumping: :cooldancing:

It might be the rod or the shifter stop (if it has one). There are bolts coming out of the shifter; one on the front and one in the back. These are there to keep you from pushing too hard on the shift levers especially when slamming gears. Normally when you set up the shifter, you back these off, adjust the rods so that each gear is being properly engaged and then the stops are set. If they are correct, then the rod needs to be adjusted. If the stop bolt is not the issue, then the rod needs to be adjusted.

Yeah don't think I have the bolt type but ill make sure. I did adjust the rod out and ill see if it makes it worse and if so go the other way

WOW, beautiful car!!. looks in amazing shape. You waited a long time but now so worth the wait. :2thumbs:

Glad to see the car come to life with that big 572.   Hope you are enjoying the hell out of it.    I commented last year when I first got my 71 cuda.  Learned on a lot on this thread.   Just had RMS install the AlterKation right before my trip to Carlisle,  so nice to drive on a long trip now.  Ordered my Passon 5 speed (I know,  year and a half waiting list) and just reached out to Tim Banning on the FI 572 Build (with low profile intake to keep my shaker).

One quick question.  After looking at a dozen or so valve cover designs for the 572,  the ones you have are my favorite.  I like to keep a somewhat low key engine compartment with mostly stock colors,  but still want to blast the 572 callout.   Those ones do that nicely.   Where did you get them?   Was Tim Banning able to get them and install them with the package?  Or did you provide them to him?

  Thanks!   -Bob

Thanks Bob, Those cover came with the Mopar crate motor when I purchased it. Im sure you could buy them from there. Yeah the Alterkation drives real nice and you cant go wrong dealing with Tim he will build you a beautiful piece.

I also was on the 5 speed list from passon and did receive a call two days ago after 3 years I was #226 I think, would love to have put one in but could not wait so installed a 18 spline 4 speed, Being Canadian the 5 speed would cost me 6/7 grand by the time you did the money thing and the border costs, lot of cash for one more gear lol, maybe in the future.

Thanks Bruce for the info on the valve covers and the 5 speed.    You would think with such a high demand product,  Passon would figure out a way step up the production.  You wonder how many  guys were just like you, and didn't want to wait so went with a tremec or other 4-speed.   But then again,  I have a family owned/run home building company,  and we only do 12 homes per year and cap it,  and we are totally happy with that so we can keep our quality up,  and I havnt advertised in 5 years.  So I guess I can relate.

Thanks again for the info,   enjoy that 572.
