Embarrassed to say I did two really ignorant things (that I remember) as a teenager.
First, I ALMOST cut out a set of wheel spacers made of plywood. Thankkfully something made me think three times about that one, but the second was tying a buddy of mines front bumper to my rear bumper to tow it somewhere, and needless to say it kept going straight into the trees at the left turn on the end of the block. Got lucky on that one. Come to think of it, Ive been pretty lucky period.
So, whenever I see some kid doing something REALLY stupid, I just think back to my own youth.
and as for things TO a car, many times I removed air filter covers to make more "power" and noise, and when someone broke into my car in college and stole the radio and steering wheel, I drove around for weeks with a pair of vice grips on the end of the steering shaft.
I'll never forget the look on the face of a lady in a toll booth on the florida turnpike one day on the way home from school. Priceless.
One time it slipped off too
Yes....Ive been stupid lucky
