Paint Color
« on: March 21, 2013 - 02:04:44 PM »
Hey Guys,

I'm considering painting my 71 Challenger convertible that burnt orange I've seen on the new Challengers.  I was going to go with the sassy grass or bright yellow but every time I see that color on the street I love it.  The cars not all original and I don't mind painting it a different color, I would like it to be a little different.  I think it would look cool since it's a convertible and has lots of black accents.  The convertible top, shaker & spoiler would all be black and possibly a black side stripe.  I haven't decided on that one yet.

What do you guys think?

Does anyone know the paint code for that color?

Thanks
Dave

I know the original color was Deep Burnt Orange Metallic and was coded FK5

That is a sweeet color!

One of my top colors for sure.

good choice!  I had my eye on the same color!  i was doing it with a black t/a hood and spoiler, and black wheels.  I think it will look sweet.  There are a couple different variations of this color that are all real similiar, but the one specifically on the new chally is called copperhead, code LB, i would also look into the 2005 Ram daytona GoMango, really similar!! code PVE  Good luck, cant wait to see it!

There's the Toxic Orange color name from a year or two ago.  I guess it is the same as the Mango Tango.
