Got my Accu Form dash cap today
.
I purchased it thru
www.partstrain.com for $95. Found that price while googling it.
It does have the indention for the "Barracuda" label on the passenger side.
Today I did a test fit. It fit like a glove and didn't have to trim the new cap. But I do have large cracks on the original dash pad in the center around the center speaker that I trimmed down along with a few other areas. I also broke off the original hard vinyl around the high spots so the foam will form better with the cap.
Right now, it's just sitting waiting for this weekend to actually glue and install it. I need to pick up a few more cheap clamps. I'm thinking more clamps, smoother finished product.
I left my camera at work but will take pics this weekend of before, during and after to share with others.
With a test fit, so far I am loving the results. :ylsuper:So far anyway.
Oh, the dash is removed (going thru everything for a rebuild) and the actual dash pad is removed from the dash itself.
So far as I see it, for the BEST results, take the dash out. OR at least tilt it forward if you don't remove it. Or do it with the windshield removed. I can see where you really need to get a good grasp on the front area where the defogger vents are and along the front edge.
