Trim code option
« on: March 14, 2005 - 12:30:48 PM »
What is the difference between H6X9 and L6X9 interior trim code options for 1970?  I know one is high cost and one is low cost.  But is the real difference?

Thanks,
Garrett007

Hey Garrett.  I'm not sure about the L6X9.  This is how I understand the seat trim package code reads.  The first letter should be either H or P (High or Premium)for the trim grade...I'm not sure what the real difference here is...quality?   :dontknow:  The second number should be for the trim type and 6 would be vinyl buckets. (4 - Vinyl Split Bench Seat, 5 - Cloth & Vinyl Bucket Seats, 6 - Vinyl Bucket Seats, R - Leather & Vinyl Bucket Seats).  The final 2 digits are for the trim color...X9=black.

Hope this helps.

The L, H, R, or P for 1970 trim codes reflect trim grades;

L = Low (Plymouth pattern vinyl and more, see L6X9 below)

H = High ( vinyl )

R = Leather (Dodge only, leather bucket seat inserts and carpeted lower door panels) ( H5 cloth interiors included the carpeted lower door panels as well)

P = Premium - (Plymouth only, includes leather front seat inserts and overhaed consoletete)

The L6X9 code  is found on A93 Coupes, both Challengers and Barracudas.  Challengers with L6X9 recieved Plymouth seat upholstery and  rubber floor matting instead of carpet, but A93 cars could be "optioned up" with carpet.

Coupes are cool, I have personally only seen two so far in my lifetime.  :beer:

Hey Garrett,
I pulled the file for your A93 Challenger, it did come with carpet, so the only differance between your particular  car as far as L6X9 vs H6X9 would be that your  car should have the Plymouth Barracuda seat uphostery instead of the Challenger seat upholstery.

T/Ake care,
Barry

I do need to make a clarification.........

R is NOT Dodge only, sorry about that.

HR is dodge only, High trim line, leather insert bucket seats.

PR is Plymouth only. Premium trim - includes leather bucket seat inserts and overhead consolette.

I apologise for any confusion and my mistake.  :spank:
