Better to have people asking dumb questions, than you asking where the people are. Just sayin.

Fact find.

The feel of the wheel makes the deal. They all must test drive

Why are they in the market for that particular make/model?

What one thing caught their eye on your particular car?

Have they looked for others like it?

How many prior? And what other makes?

What do they like the most on your car/offer?

If there's one thing from buying, what would that be?

2 other guys came by and looked at it. One is very serious.

There's more, but maybe some of these can help you.
Keep enthusiastic and act proud of the car. Most of all, build value.

got a couple offers.  they were prolly fair.  of course me, being the typical seller, thinks the car is worth prolly more than it actually is and now i have to make some hard decisions.  fortunately im in no rush at all, so im playing it cool for now.

I'm trying to sell a car right now too and I'm getting insulting low offers. I know my vehicle isn't top rung, but it isn't in the range of a pizza and ten bucks worth of gas type of exchanges either but that doesn't seem to stop some Dumas's  from offering me 75% off my asking price. Get real. I expect to negotiate, but for some reason I keep getting emails asking me what my bottom line is without anyone coming to look at it.

I recall a slogan I saw somewhere - the car you looked at today and want to think about until tomorrow may be the same car someone else looked at yesterday and wants to think about until today.  No always applicable, but could be germain.

Oh I get it now I thought you guys were talking about car sales at a dealership, not a private sale! Good luck selling hope you get your asking price!

Classic tale of sales of which I'm in.

It depends on how long you want to hang on to the said item. Most buyers want to close deals fast but lead with some crazy low ball offers thinking the seller is completely desperate. If you are selling you need to add some incentive for the buyer to move quicker and come up to your price range. Let the buyer know you have about 3-4 folks actively looking at your car and see what their reaction is. Tell them you are in no hurry but you are expecting an offer in the next few days. This will motivate folks to move and shorten the sales cycle which will only help you. After all this see how they react and that will be your tell. It's much like playing poker, the person who shows their tell first loses.

If you are in a hurry you have to change your strategy for selling and be willing to accept a lower offer and then just be upfront with folks and say this is my make it or break it number.

Good luck and good selling!
