Saudi Photo Work

I finally have a working Photoshop, so here's some of the stuff I've been doing in Saudi Arabia.

This is a place called Shaybah, in the deep desert. Very few get to go here, even fewer Westerners. the sand really is red, one of the few places in the world with red sand.

Guess I wasn't clear   I'm a photographer, and I occasionally post some of the work that I think folks might find interesting here. I haven't posted anything since I got to Saudi.

Sounds like a dream job.

Part of me wishes I could say that I'm paid to be a photographer here, but that is sadly not the case. If you take a picture of a woman here without her permission, they lynch you, so I'm not sure I want to get involved

Thanks for the complement. That's actually a mosque. Most of the mosques, like most churches, are pretty much utilitarian, but this one is a lovely little gem. The body of water is the Persian Gulf.

David,

I'm just curious about what you miss the most from America?

cool pics!

I'm curious as to why westerners don't get to go see the red sand dunes.

So, If you can't look at women, take pictures of women, talk to women, how do you get laid out there?
Honest question here.  Not saying you would use them, just curious.  Do they have prostitution there?
I have seen reports that say the sex trade is huge in Saudi, and I was wondering if you have even seen it?

There are no tourist visas to Saudi, so you have to have a job here to get here. Then, the only facilities in Shaybah are Aramco, so the job has to be associated with my company to go. Finally, just to visit, they run a lottery four times a year.

Re: prostitution, I understand it's bog in Bahrain. Never seen a sign of it here, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Those photos are great!  Keep them coming when you get some. It's a treat to be able to see another part of the country.

Interesting! I'd guess it's quite a culture shock going over there?
