Call me cheap bastard, but I never fall for the lubricants. I use simple water hose. Keep in mind, most of the projects I deal with I end up buffing the paint, not waxing right after the overspray, rust and regular contaminants. So it's possible that those fancy lubricants offer the type of lubrication that leaves the surface ready for wax without any micro scratches, but I highly doubt it.
I get the pads for $60 a pair . I use them on regular basis, The best part about them is that they don't keep any of the crap that they picked off the paint, simple rinse off and they're as good as new. And for an average guy that maintains his couple family cars, the pair of these pads should last you about 10 years or more .
If you can't find them cheaper that $60 a pair, let me know and I'll get you in contact with brother of the owner of the company.
