Any way to restore / fix window felts?
« on: March 31, 2013 - 06:30:48 PM »
Replacing my door glass because it was scratched from rubbing against the metal over the years.

Any tips or suggestions on how to replace the felt strips on the window sliders?  Not looking for 100 pt resto, just something that will do the job and not scratch the glass.

They are not even close to being as nice as they look in the photo, felt is almost worn through.

Thanks

Folks on here recommended the soft fuzzy side of velcro as an alternative.  So I bought some wide industrial strength velco and that's what I used.

Thanks for the input!

Is the self adhesive backing enough to keep it on the metal?
Or do you need to glue them down?

I used contact cement.  I didn't trust the stuff that they usually come with.  I think a took the original stuff off with alcohol.
