NZ, Buying a FORD (Daily Driver)
« on: March 15, 2005 - 12:15:53 PM »

I am buying a Ford in the next week or so and trading in my Subaru, I'd rather drive Ford than 2L Rice.  :grinyes:

It's 2003 Model and it's AUSTRALIAN which makes it better IMO.

It's a Ford Falcon XR8 220kw stock which is roughly 315hp 13,000 MILE's on the clock which is the biggest major.

Here are some photos, remember it's from Ford Australia so you guys know I'm not cheating.

Mopar is always number one but Ford Falcons are reliable and DC has nothing in my price range except a Jeep Grand Cherokee which is still a little out of my league. I'll probably put a few mods on to keep me happy but "Lucy" aka Challenger will ALWAYS  be the bad girl.  8)

Well NZ... that car is not bad looking, although the grille is a little out of proportion.

Sure beats my 95 Taurus.

A Quick Poll, don't want to thread hijack... but I'm going to anyways. ;D

My dad's and grandfather's before him, 1995 Ford Taurus with 155,500mi
or
A 1993 Olds Cutlass Ciera with 35,000mi and fresh paint, from my 2nd cousin (she is emotionally attached to the car, though).

That doesn't look that bad, NZ.  I'll have to dig up a photo of my cousin's car that she bought when they first moved there.  It's pretty cool.

Thanks, as I stated it BEATS rice. No lag, it's a daily driver not a race car but will get some mods.

It's a baby Ford, my Dad got the 2004 Model with "shaker" on the hood a real Down under Muscle car, which is more than DC has to offer.

300kw (400hp) aint bad and it's huge!!!!!!

Here's a link to Dads black beast (this is the yard we bought it from)........

The Black ones is Dads which is way out of my price league.

The silver XR8 is mine and didn't cost me too much, the kms are the major selling point, 13,000!!! It's a 2003 model as well.

The difference after trading the Subaru was $12,000.  :)

That Falcon looks like a Neon humped a Hyundai Accent LOL!!

Heck, I DROVE my wife's Accent as a 'daily' for over a year, and now my daily is a Ford Windstar Daddy-wagon...still have the Chally to even the score, tho.

congrats on the new car.  it looks reliable and dependable.  Enjoy it
