In my mind I go for the "looks stock but likely has a ton of incorrect parts" looks. Someone at the car show will likely think it's a great restoration.

So what I would do under the hood:

1. Stock valve covers
2. Mopar Battery (I just bought one haha)
3. Get all the decals that should go under the hood like the radiator coolant decal for the rad support, brake booster decal, electronic ignition decal, emissions decal, air filter replacement decal etc... I find those small touches really pull things together.

again i'll add some small print because I feel bad telling someone thier car is not perfect, I love this car.

Nice interior, but ya, seats and rallye dash and pad are wrong.

If that's a 3-speaker ac dash, I'm tempted to trade you if it's mint for the correct 70 dodge challenger pad.

I think it's just a cap and not a pad.

Some of the original parts are from other folks attempts to do-over.   Like the 73 dash and interior.  The cap is because I did not want to pay $700+ for a new pad.....as I was building a driver anyway.

What's up with the VIN tag ?

OK.........questions on the vin tag............of course the dash itself is a 73........so the tag that was on that dash did not match the original vin.........so I just printed the real vin and there it is.........I know.......not original but I understand that the original got a little HOT.......smoked and was discarded.....It is also only a one speaker dash..............

Geez....If you're going to make your own VIN tag you should have at least made it a Hemi car.... :roflsmiley:

Ok Dave, you got "cojones" for getting into the restoration waters but I think you should consider getting out - the sharks are having a feeding frenzy!! :22yikes: I like your car - I'm not a big fan of FY1 - but I think your restoration is sharp. So I got an idea - if you start calling your car a "resto-mod" then all of the "not correct" issues go out the window. So therefore, I now think that your "resto-mod" looks sharp and is rockin'! :2thumbs:

No David, I didn't word it right.
I wasn't calling you a non-expert. I was referring to myself (my comment from me, a nonexpert). By looking at your car (and me being a non expert) I think you did an expert job  :ylsuper:.
