E-Body Radio Bracket?
« on: April 11, 2013 - 04:32:50 PM »
Which bracket is correct for mounting the radio to the dash?  Are both required?  I thought the only bracket was the thin metal support/brace; then I saw the one in the top picture for sale.  The description states: "This is an original OEM radio bracket for a 70 71 72 73 74 Cuda, Barracuda or a Challenger.  This is what attaches the radio to the dash frame."  Thanks.

The top bracket holds the steering column.  The bottom one holds the back end of  the radio.

     :iagree:

I just bent that radio brace out of the way when I put in my after-market radio.

Thanks.  I was trying to get back to this before anyone replied.  I just discovered it's the steering column bracket.  I guess because the photo shows it sideways, I didn't recognize it. Looking at it now that I know what it is, it's quite obvious.  I'm pretty shocked that the ebay listing says it's a radio bracket.  The seller is pretty reputable and knowledgable (regarding Mopar parts).  He must have made a simple error when posting his listing.  Thanks for the clarification.
