Yes, that is the charger. Back then,  No one knew it would be  the icon it has turned out to be.

How cool was that to own some movie history, if only for a short while.  Do you know which scenes it was used in?

thank you, yes, the scene where they left the swap meet  ( 2 cars used ),  when they are cruising into town to the pool hall/bar ( 2 cars used )  fueling up also 2 cars used. then the chase through the walnut groves  3 cars used. you will see my charger when they are making a screeching hard right turn and pass 2 field workers next to their pickup truck, the 1 scene there will show a large stainless steel antennae about 6 ft tall used in that 1 scene only, it was removed in all other scenes, must have been a clearance issue for the helicopter maybe as I don't see why it was in that hard turn scene and no others. I still have that antennae and had completely forgot where it came from & used it on all of my  4X4 trucks over a 30 year time. it was in the trunk of the charger sticking thru the side of the back seat up to the side of the passenger side door. I still have the R/T badges somewhere. my car was the one badged as an " R/T" however it was a 383 only not a 440. there was an article in one of the online auto magazines that I stumbled on which was a pretty good surprise however, a couple of incorrect facts which when I found out WHO to contact about it asked me to correct any errors which I did for them but the article was never corrected.  I WISH I HAD KEPT THAT CHARGER as  I wanted it as soon as I found it from  the studio I was working for in the 70's & they helped me get ahold of it. I repaired & repainted it and was waiting a few weeks longer to re stripe it when my  EX totaled it  before I could restripe it. I will try to find that article & will  post it. Ok here is the link, the photos of a much younger me are old film camera film from about 1977 and I scanned the old photos on my printer/scanner & the colors look  different from what they actually were. in the movie of the charger going into town to hide at the bar with the pool table, it was called "BILLS" the picture of it parked on the street "stripe less"  was a couple of days before that idiot ex wiped it out. she& her 13 year old sister didn't get hurt  but I think my ex let her kid sister try to drive on a side road that turned into  a freeway onramp in San Francisco going towards the bay bridge  on hwy 101 at the I-80 split. I don't know WHAT they hit but the undercarriage was trashed as well the front end.   here is the link, I apologize for being "long winded here.

PS  - the yellow charger at the bottom of the article belongs to a charger.com member named KHYRON. The magazine didn't even acknowledge him or ask his permission to use HIS charger clone in the article.

Thanks for the story.  Too bad it was wrecked for you.

I remember some of those scenes you mentioned.  I get the movie out when I have a chance to watch again.

YES  I picked her up yesterday and the thought that I can think is  :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :bananasmi :2thumbs: My salesman sat with me in the Challenger & explained everything it has & that it will do. I have a 2003 GMC Sierra 4 X 4 and I THOUGHT, it had all the modern convienences & technology, BUT, once inside & driving the Challenger, I changed that thinking right then & there. All I can say you guys is WOW Buying the 2013 Challenger R/T was one of the best decisions I have EVER made. I think that those of you that  bought your Challenger have had this very good feeling when you picked up yours & driving it for the first time. I could hardly sleep last night. When I picked it up, I took a nice long drive & went up to An old silver mining town called "VIRGINIA CITY" of the TV show " BONANZA . It looks just as it did in the 1800s. there was a motorcross championship race going on and the streets were closed and blocked off & trying to find a way around to go home, I had people looking taking double takes & looks from a lot of people & some people asked me if they could take a picture standing next to my Challenger. That and a lot of thumbs up gestures from people & I cannot begin to tell you what a GREAT feeling that is. I am still learning all of the things  my new challenger can do  & has to offer. I want to thank everyone here for all of the help & information. :woohoo: This is an R/T however, it has been optioned with everything that comes with the "R/T PLUS" so  I guess I can say that I have an "R/T PLUS" The 5 speed autostick with the paddle shifters is beyond words that I can find. More to come & pictures also soon. the feeling of pride I feel while looking out over the powerful hood is wonderful.  Now comes even more fun as I add the original style Challenger & R/T badges  to both fenders, grille & rear spoiler . I also want to add the old style letters that spell out " D  O  D  G  E " on the front of the hood just like they did in 1970. I think I have a picture someone made that looks great. if I can find that picture I will try to post it here. Again, THANK YOU ONE & ALL for your help. I am happy that Dodge decided to leave off that ram emblem on the nose of the challengers.

Cool story on the DMCL Charger! I just picked up that DVD a few weeks back. So sad what happened to it. Thanks for sharing  :2thumbs:

Nice car Bert!

Do you plan to add any black stripes, or keep the Vanishing Point look?

Glad you got your Challenger.  Mine is still on order.  I get to track it through production on line.  Hopefully it will start marching along any day now.  I can't wait for it to arrive.

Thanks guys, I picked up my Challenger on Saturday and have been enjoying it very much !!!! The 2013s don't have any nose badges which I am happy about. My R/T came with everything that makes the R/T plus  an R/T plus for the price of an R/T. I am going to leave it all white which is why it was hard to find but my dealer/salesman came through and went to the bay area ( S.F. ) and picked it up himself. I want to get the classic old Challenger fender badges & R/T badges as well as a challenger badge for the grille and rear spoiler  with an R/T there as well. The red R/T badges will really stand out on the white. I will be getting a pistol grip shift handle in walnut ( my console and radio area trim is  the carbon fiber trim. they have a carbon fiber pistol grip but something about the real walnut wood handle. I love the auto stick & paddle shifters, I didn't thing the paddle shifters would be something I would use, but how wrong I was. I want to add a K & N  cold air intake and a cat back exhaust to get a more powerful sound without being overly loud, just deep and powerful sounding. Do they make headers for the challenger 5.7 hemi & if so, has anyone here tried them ?

I had headers on my 5.7 ram, along with k&n intake and custom exhaust, together gained 3.5 mpg highway and very noticeable powr gains.  Oh, had high flow cats too

I had a pleasant surprise today. I found the window sticker folded neatly with other  dealer documents that my salesman collected for me &  included those in a neat packet of information for me to keep. A couple of pages were documents not normally shared with the customer however my salesman thought I would like to have these. he picked my car up in the SF bay area & drove it back to Nevada as he wanted to make sure it was driven properly during the first miles of a new engine. When I had stated earlier that my R/T had   specialty options added to it that came as standard equipment on R/T Pluses well, the window sticker states that it IS an R/T Plus. :wow: I wanted an R/T as I would be very happy with that but the R/T plus is what my Challenger turned out to be & I am very happy about that, I got the R/T plus for less than you would get an R/T for so I am  pretty happy after finding the window sticker this afternoon. :burnout:
