Rimblow Steering Wheel restoration Update.

Hi to all members. If you are looking for your Rimblow Steering Wheel to be Restored to factory condition, I would not hesitate to recommend David Tays at WOODGRAINWHEELS.COM. I don't want to bore you. Just some History on my research. I've had my steering Wheel for 20 + yrs and finally started looking for someone  to restore it for the last past 4 yrs. Thanks to your feedback from everyone on this site. I have checked a number of company's who does this type of restorations. WOODGRAINWHEELS.COM was the company I decided to restore my wheel. I called David he explained in detail on how he was going to restore my Wheel. I only wanted the wood grain and switch done, he also polished spokes and Black finger grip Quality over and above. When I would call David he always had time to talk, he told me how long it would take he was up front with everything. If I was to score David it would be A++++. I just received my wheel today and when I open the box removed it from the packing paper, plastic box and bubble wrap I was like a kid on Christmas morning.   It would depend on the condition of your Rimblow Steering wheel and how far you wanted it Restored.
David from WOODGRAINWHEELS.COM did exactly what I wanted He Completey restored the wood grain, polished spokes and black finger grips and removed the old stain band, old switch/pigtail and replaced it with New satin band (This is he divider between wood grain and Black fingre grip), switch/pigtail Total with shipping and insurance was $475.00 after our 10% Discount for being a member to Cuda-Challenger. I went to other Companys for the same Restoration that I wanted the quotes were $600.00 to $800.00 It took me 4 yrs of reseach. I found David's Company and I wish I had restored it sooner. It is Amazing on David's Workmanship. I even took a Video of me using the Rimblow. If you want more photo's just ask me.

That doesn't seem to bad of a price.  My wheel mainly needs the switch replaced and the outside band (divider between wood and finger grip).  I wonder if he'd consider doing just?

I redid my own wheel. Wasnt too hard. Probably took 3-4 hours, with most of that time spent digging out the old switch and cleaning up the channel. Bought the new rubber "switch" and silver "dividing tape" and did it myself.
Mine doesnt look as nice as yours, but it works.

lets just say I bought them along with some simple instructions from the "other guy" who advertises on this site.

the tough part of the wheel in my opinion is the black part. Mine still has two split cracks in the rear (you cant normally see them) and I wouldnt know how to fill in and repair them. I think cracking on the back side is a common problem with these rims. The wood front not so much, except for typical scratches, etc, for which repair and refinishing is pretty straightforward.

Corey, I can replace the stripe and switch on your wheel and turn it around in just a couple days. Full restorations are about 4 months at this time. We can do anything from partial to full restorations to OEM specifications. This is the busiest time of the year for any type of restorations due to everybody getting their car ready for summer cruising.
