I'm trying to replace my brake pads and the rubber hose that connects the solid line to the caliper. I ordered parts for a 70 Challenger. Now reality has set in that these disc brakes I have are NOT from a 70 Challenger at all. In my pictures, the pads on the left are for a 70, the ones on the right are what I need. The brake hoses don't fit either. The 70 ones have fittings that are ever so slightly too large. Just for the heck of it, I went to the parts store and talked grumpy parts guy into showing me brake hoses for a 72, and a 74 Challenger. They were slightly different, but they had the same size threading on the fittings as the 70.
So now I'm thinking I don't even have E-body brakes. Can anyone tell me where these came from? The single piston caliper has the numbers 3699, and 983 on the back of it. I can't bear the thought of going back to grumpy parts guy with another wrong guess. I think he already wants to give me a public flogging. :spank: Thanks for any help.
