Need measurement of SE plug for Challenger
« on: March 16, 2005 - 04:58:51 PM »
I have a weird problem.  I have rear window louvers I plan on installing.  Problem is, the car presently has a SE small window plug.  This will be removed at a later time when I have the top replaced.  This may be awhile, so I want to go ahead and mount the louvers in the correct place until then.

Does anyone have a measurement of a SE plug top section width?  I need to determine how far above the small SE window to mount the louvers for the correct larger window.

Thanks

Katfish -  Luckily I'm right at that stage now.  Here's the "x-ray" vision you need...and the measurments I took.  Internal measurments are from the SE chrome trim out to the body indent for the standard window.   Height and Width measurements are from edge to edge of standard opening.  Cant wait to see the final install pics!  good luck!

Your glass is so shiny redline...it looks good, but why do you have the moldings still attached? did you just throw them up there to make it look complete or sumthin?

Killer...that's pretty funny.  That glass is filthy!  When we were tearing the car apart, we just cut the vinyl around the glass and pulled the whole plug out.  We have new glass to install in there, after we get the new vinyl on.

LOL I was being serious about the glass, it looks nice in those pictures....it must be the lights. I cut my top around the window too and then pulled the moldings off later. Just a warning to you, those moldings are a pain in the ass to get off....make sure you have the tool and a razor because they are glued on with the window sealer.
