Goin' to the Dyno Saturday - guess my RWHP!
« on: March 17, 2005 - 09:25:12 AM »
Don't know if this is the correct forum, but going to the chassis dyno this weekend! Anyone care to guess my rear wheel hp? Winner gets to go by “Big Daddy” for 3 months, and a can of Kraft Squeezie Cheezy!

Original 340 6 Pack (rebuilt at 60k has 40k on it) 10.3:1 TRW compression, w/chrome moly rings; 68cc chambers; headers (34” x 1 5/8th x 3”); gasket matched ports; shot peened, magnafluxed, sized & side polished rods; flat, back cut, 5 angled 2.02" narrow stem intake valves, bronze guides; Comp Cams HE268 cam (.218º @ .050, .456” lift), stress relieved T/A block .030 over; PTC 4,000 stall torque converter (www.ptcrace.com) out through a 3.55 Sure Grip. All this at 6,000’ elevation.

I’m guessing 220.
Thank You Vets!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Cheese

I'd have to say it's not terribly radical but I would guess much closer to 300 even.

There is nothing scientific about my guess either - this is like the jellybeans in a jar deal, just my guess.

236.5hp.  Give or take a couple.  That's using the approximation there's 473 being made at the crank. :grinyes:  I may be harsh on the amount lost throughout the trans, but that's my guess and I'm sticking to it!!!
