Squirter Survey

For you guys with an 850 Holley DP, what size squirters (accelerator pump nozzles) are you running on
the prim and sec side? Just wanna see what the ballpark is.  I've upped mine to 41, but my cams may need
changing as well.  When they were down around 31 to 35, I just didn't blast off the line like I wanted.

82 front main
84 rear

34 front squirter
32 rear


4.5 power valve

496, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear, 254/258 at .050 .625 lift
Just seemed sluggish off the line
Going to 41s seemed to help.

41 is the upper range for me , rarely have I used squirters over 40
The Dart is wicked , I woul dhave to install buckets seats at least !!

On my Proform 850 DP, I have 78 primary jets, and 86 secondaries. This came like this, so by looking at my spark plugs, I saw no reason to tinker. It ran great until they started putting Ethanol in our gas.   :stomp:

I have since had to go to a .35 squirter back and front. I also had to change the front cam from pink to blue to get rid of my off idle stumble.

A bigger cam delivering more volume of fuel will not change a instant stumble , only the squirter will change that , a larger cam will deliver fuel longer

Apparently Holley says to go to 50cc pumps, if your squirter is above 40.  Guess thats
because with more aggressive accel pump cams, you could run out of gas with a 30cc pump.

Well what do you know! After changing jets every day for two weeks, since I got my AFR indicator, my 850 settled
on 78 primaries, and 86 secondaries. I shoulda just asked you!

Is there any kinda rule or way to decide if the secondary cam should be more or less aggressive than
the primary cam.  For primary cam, coming off the line is a good way to gauge, but not sure how
to gauge what secondary cam is necessary?

less is often more as youalready have airflow start with the saem size front & rear , go smaller on the rear if there is no stuble keep going smaller

wow, using blue cam, and 35 squirters, gave a smoother, stronger, and quicker acceleration!
