Carlisle tent info! Registration for Carlisle
« on: March 17, 2005 - 11:14:47 AM »
I have been working on our tent for Carlisle 2005!  Last year we discovered that having a tent was a huge bonus for cc.com members as it gave us a place to relax with a strawberry smoothie and chat with other members  . . . plus somewhere to get out of the sun, have chairs and coolers and just relax.  Actually I don't think there was any time last year when there was no one at the tent!  There was always someone there!!  It was like our home base . . go looking in the swap for parts . . . find some parts . . .take them back to the tent, drop them off, rest for a moment and back to look for more parts!   As far as I know . . . EVERYONE that has entered a car in the show can park by the members tent if they choose!  The tent is located in the e-body section of the show but if you drive a different body car, you can still part by the tent.  I saw e-bodies over in b-body section and so on!

Now the tent costs $150 bucks which I will cover for the members.  But if we get 25 cars registered for the show, we get the tent for free and save $150.00 . . .this year and next year!  At this point . . . Carlisle tells me we have 3 people/cars pre-registered.  Make sure when you do register that you put "cuda-challenger.com" as your club name!  The cost for registering is 35 bucks.  The $35.00 includes you, 1 guest and your car for all 3 days . . . plus a goodie bag!  Here is the link to register!  Dates for Carlisle are July 8-10!  Register soon!

4C,
I haven't registered yet, but I have a question. Are you TOTALLY sure we all can park by the tent? I ask because the tent was in a great location last year at the end of E-body row. What if they put the tent in the middle somewhere? That would mean we might be mixing our cars with the bone stock cars or something. I just don't want to pi$$ off the pureists there. I love the idea of having all the cars together though.

MEK I am working on getting them to put the tent in about the same spot!  I was told that the members could park by the tent if they want but if you drive something other than an e-body, you can either park with the rest of your body style of with the rest of us at the tent.  Your choice.

Our registration card doesn't list a club affiiliation, but I definitely put cuda-challneger.com as the club name. Maybe they based on their count on a particular spelling.

I hope you will consider a donation to help defray the tent expense (assuming that there aren't 25 registered cars), or at least a cold beverage of your choice.

4C, I plan on helping with the cost of the tent as well.  No reason for you to spring for it on your own.

Last year we chipped in to equal out the cost of the tent per member present, and I asked 4C to let me know if he came up short as I would certainly add to the amount, he never got back with me so I'm assuming it was covered with no hardship upon him. But knowing 4C he probably wouldn't have said anything anyway, he's just one hell of a good friend and a gentleman in all aspects, he's a "keeper" as far as friends go. Now that being said 4C we expect you to be honest with us about the cost of tent rental providing we do not have the required 25 cars registered, and if your doing this by computer, the puter will recognize only a specific "spelling" of the club affilation, so miss a dot or a hyphen and the registeration puter will not regonize your entry, is that not right 4C? I'm registerating now since the subject is present and the link is posted here, come on guys and gals let's get the tent covered so it can cover us at Carlisle!

Well WSM . . . ummmmm . . . I guess first I must tell you that FLATTERY!!! . . . . will get you EVERYWHERE!!  lol

Last year everyone kept talking about getting a tent but nothing was getting done about it. Time was growing short and I finally decided that I would secure the tent so that it was there for us in case of rainy weather or extream sunshine/heat plus a meeting place for all my new MOPAR friends.  So I think Lemonboy69 helped and together we rented a tent.  He made the contact and I flipped the bill.  I asked LB to not disclose who secured the tent cause I decided it didn't matter that much to me.  Things have been pretty good for me and I liked the idea of a CUDA-CHALLENGER.COM tent!  Well somehow I was exposed and everyone helped out.  That was nice but not necessary.

I have already filled out the paper work for this years tent.  Should have it secured by this next week.  If you guys feel compelled to donate towards the tent . . that would be fine.  But I won't lose sleep at night if ya don't!!

OK so I have registered already too and have already recieved my conformation.  So I was one of the 3 also.  I think I will start a list at the beginning of this thread to track who has registered so we don't miss anyone!  It would be cool to get a tent free for a couple years!!

Who do we  send the check or money order to for registration? I would like to help out and register and at least have a place to stop and talk if I get tired. Does this secure us the tent and parking? And for up to how many cars? I probably wouldn't be bringing anything, might not attend, but would like to help the club oput. :)
