Rallye Gauge Decals
« on: April 26, 2013 - 08:33:34 AM »
Hello guys! Probably I will need to replace my speedometer face by a one with kph scale on it. I'm searching for a source for replacement. By now I found two suppliers:
1) Performance Car Graphics
http://www.performancecargraphics.com/Dash_Stuff/Gauge_Faces/E-body_Rallye.htm
2) Premium Dash Decals
http://www.premiumdashdecals.com/7074_ebody_rallye.htm
.
Does anyone have experience with those? Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Why would you need to replace the speedo face with one that has klicks. I assume your from Canada buy your name but an old car is exempt as far as I know.

I'm trying to get the car on the road in Germany. The info from the technical surveillence agency around here says the speedo needs permanet marking in km/h. In that case I can better change the face decal on it.
I've seen the set recommended by 70CUDA4SPEED but its finish is glossy and I hope to be able to keep the original appearence.
Thanks for you input anyway.

Thanks for the picture! How doesnit look like in comparision to the original faces? I mean could you just replace the speedo face or did you have to replace all faces to make everything match? Are the faces some kind of sticker? Are they precut?
Thanks!

Hi there,

I made the decals that 70CUDA4SPEED has on his speedo. I do not know how these compare to originals and even if they are 100 % correct, they will not look like a 40+ year old gauge face. I would recommend that you restore all of your gauges at once to get all the gauges the same.

If you need pictures of the decals/gauges let me know and I will take some pictures after work on a restored cluster I have and on the decals. I can only sell you all of the gauges or none at this time as I have a limited amount of decals printed.

They are precut on all but the oil, temp and fuel as I made an error on those. It is easy to lay out the decals on those gauges and cut out the hole perfectly from the back, that way it is also easier to line up the decals with the gauge face.

I hope this helps some.

Per

Edit: Forgot to say that I have both the glossy and a matte finish. The matte looks stock, the glossy gets a higher contrast as the whites shines more. Its your choice.
Thanks!
