70 Barracuda - Few things
« on: April 26, 2013 - 08:39:54 PM »
For a 70 Barracuda need the following:

Right Headlight bucket and trim, doesn't have to be perfect.

A tail panel, new or used, needs to be straight, or pretty straight....

Rear valance 'Cuda style with twin cut outs.

Also any smashed up broken up 70 grille, any condition.  I just need a couple of pieced to fix mine up.

Hit me up if you have any of these basically in any condition, let me know and we'll go from there.  It's for a driver, not a show car.

Thanks,
Kevin

Can you post a pic of your grille so I can get an idea of what you need

Sure can....I don't need the Right headlight bucket as I have one, but it's a little messed up. I'm missing the trim though....

The piece on the grill above the latch release doesn't have to be original; I'm sure most are broken in this spot.  I'm just looking for a few pieced to hopefully fix this and whatever else I find wrong with it.

Tail panel is definitely not straight.  I'm not sure what it needs because I don't have a straight one in front of me to go by, but looking at the bumper and the panel, it needs something.  I'm sure I can knock into place at some point, but it might be easier to work in a straight one.  I'm open to feedback on this as well as I need to replace the left quarter and possibly the right side too.  If I'm going to go through that work I might has well square in a straight one.....

I have got the pieces for your grille. In fact I have several hunks of busted 70 grilles. I will give a few larger pieces, larger than what you need for a perfect fill in preplacement part. E-mail me for pictures of the parts. They won't be expensive either, but you will have to cut & fit the pieces you need.

We got a panel on Ebay from "rocparlic" in Mount Clemens, MI.  We got an AMD panel first that didn't fit well, they sent another that didn't fit, and then I got the one on Ebay.  It was a Sherman/Goodmark panel that fit great and had much crisper lines.

Good luck on your project.

Thanks guys,

FY1 - obviously you replaced the tail panel, but did you do any quarter work also?  If so, did you get the panel from the same merchant?

Tuf340 - I'll email you this week to work something out.   Just hang tight for right now....

THanks again,
Kevin

We had to replace the whole rear end of the Cuda after it got smashed on the freeway by a truck.  Here's a link to the thread on this site:

We hung two AMD quarters and had a new AMD trunk lid, trunk extensions, etc.  It was only when we were test fitting the AMD tail panel, we realized that it wasn't lining up with the AMD trunk lid, so I eventually got the Ebay tail panel.  If you're buying a lot of sheet metal, see if you can avoid paying shipping.  The dealer we used got free shipping from AMD to his business on orders over $5000, so he would bundle people's orders all together.  I needed over $2000 worth, but along with other guy's orders totaling over $5K, the shipment  was free (but it usually involves a little waiting since the dealer has to line up enough orders).  If you want more info or pictures, feel free to PM me.
