Took advantage of the nice weather and test fitted the new front tires and wheels on the Challenger.

Trying to go from the street/strip look to more of a classic street musclecar.

Rims are 15x8 with 4 1/2 back spacing.

Front tires are 245/60-15

Car is sitting up a bit too much in the front but I was happy to discover no rubbing anywhere.

Now I can lower the front down a bit.

Rear rims are the same 15x8 with 275/60-15

Hope to get them mounted next week.

Took the car for a test ride and even without power steering those bigger front tires turn pretty easy.

He said "test fit" so I assume the front are the new that he was testing the looks on and the rears will go on later? Sounded like they were on order or just not on the car yet I think..

As he stated.
"test fitted the new front tires and wheels"

As for the look, I like it. But I still like the flashy look of the rear wheels too.

Yes I have the matching rear rims and tires, just need to get them mounted up.

I wasn't concerned about the rears fitting as they are the exact same size as what's on it, I went a size bigger in tire and rim width on the front.

The Weld wheels do look good but I'm trying to get away from the dragstrip look.

Nice wheels.  I love the T/A hood on your 71.  Where did you buy it from?

Thanks.

I bought the T/A hood used very cheap at a local swap meet many years ago.

I originally bought it for my street/strip 1973 Challenger.

It fits good but is a cheaper version I think made by Unlimited Fiberglass.

There are a number of better quality T/A hoods on the market these days.

The T/A hood is my favorite Challenger hood, even over a Shaker as it looks awesome, flows tons of fresh air and gives me plenty of clearance under the hood.

Got all 4 wheels tires on now.

Still got to lower the front a bit and get the front wheel molding installed.
