Where do you send a speedometer for calibration?
« on: April 28, 2013 - 09:33:37 PM »
Ok  I bought a speedo/gauge cluster off E-Bay and the odometer was right on the money but the speedo was out by about 20 MPH. (standard 1970 non rally cluster) So I contacted the seller and he was good to send me another. Turns out( I'm pretty sure) he removed the speedo needle to paint it . I installed the second speedo and its worce! So I'm wanting to send it somewhere to get it re calibrated?
Anyone recomend someone/some place? Drives me nuts using a GPS to know how fast I'm going!

Aren't you suppose to just change the speedo needle in the transmission when the speedo cable connects?   :clueless:  Just change how many teeth the gear has .. . .

Yep normally that what you do to get the speedo right, but in this case the guy removed the needle to paint it and didn't get it back on in the right spot, the odometer is right but the speedo is out so changing gears in the transmission won't help.
