I've been down that way. Costa Rica. Next country away.

Lemme tell you, my buddy and I who went with me still talk about it over 10 years later.
Watch out for the Monkeys in the Jungle throwing their poop at you.

The Fishing is incredible. Zip lines, River tours, Beaches you feel like you own cause your the only one's there.
Horseback rides. Giant leaves you can sit under when the rains come. I loved the Monteverde Cloud forest.
I could go on and on. And I'm positive where Neil is isn't any much different.

Panama is on my Bucket list next after I travel to Alaska this summer on a Cessna.

Check Out Minera , Canadian copper mining project here , should employ 18,000 people & run for 125 years , it is run from Vancouver . Also you could work overseas in the patch & work 1 month on ,one off as many of our clients do . That was my initial plan when we moved here as I had a job lined up in Lybia but Qadaffi started killing everyone there about 2 months before we moved down . Rigzone posts about 700 jobs / week world wide in the oil industry too .  We found that there is a lot of opportunity in Panama inself  , the economy is booming here growing at 11% / year , no unemplyment & supposedly over 50,000 unfilled jobs , creating your own work here pays far better for the most part but anyone with skills is in demand & the cost of living is very low comparatively . banks pay 5-5.5% on term deposits & credit unions pay as high as 8.5%. Many new constrution houses & buildings have a 20 year property tax exemption for example . we have about 16 years left on our house . We live about a 10 min walk to the Pacific & 10 min drive into the montains behind us , there are numerous different climates here , tons to explore & do here .
Why I did not do this 20 years ago .......
