Shelby Europa Mustang???????
« on: April 30, 2013 - 09:58:16 AM »
Wow!  Never seen one of these before!  :o  I've never seen Shelby versions of this body style!

I wonder if there is a Shelby Mustang II somewhere in South America of something?

The original Eleanor in the first Gone in Sixty Seconds was that body style. I didn't know they made a Europa though.

I used to own a Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang II, (that's how it is listed in the repair manuals, lol) and it looked NOTHING like that, sadly! I always just called it what it was, a pintomustangbobcat2. It actually was a fun car in a weird way. I yanked the backseat and installed 2 15" inch woofers and a killer sound system. I had one of those goofy 7 mirror rear view mirrors that spanned the entire windshield. It was like driving a tank, with about a 1 foot slit to see forwards out of. Man, you could see everything around and behind you, though! Had a Confederate flag perforated window treatment on the back window. The ones where you can see out, but can't see in from the outside. JC Whitney all the way baby! lol.

My friend had Mustang II Cobra, like the one Farrah Fawcet had on Charlie's Angels, white with the double blue stripe.  I thought it was a cool car.  I heard they were heavier than they actually looked.

They must've done something right with the front suspension because kit cars today are still using Mustang II front suspension parts and brakes.  Who knows where they are getting these parts unless someone is making reproductions...

Very cool old car.  As to the Pinto/Mustang/hybrid I actually liked the looks of the Mustang II when they were new, especially the white with blue stripes  and the blue with white stripes.  With the 302 they were at least OK performers for their time although one tried to jump me in the Roadrunner and to say I embarrassed him badly that day would be putting it nicely.
