Chassis dyno run.
« on: May 01, 2013 - 10:28:18 PM »
As a few of you know, I have been working on the tuning of my FAST XFI fuel injected 440 for a few months now.  The results were ok but I knew there was more to be found from the system. I struggled with smooth warm and overall rich running throughout the power band.  So, I took the car to a tuner who works on FAST, Edelbrock, and Holley fuel injected systems.  A few hours in their capable hands and they car is running great.  Here is a video of one of the pulls. Sorry for the quality, it was taken on my phone as a forgot to grab my camera.

The results are 415 rear wheel Corrected Horse Power and 430lbs of corrected torque.  The original dyno pulls to the fly wheel where 493hp and 535lbs.

Hmm alot of the dynos I've seen have double rollers for the rear tires.

How did he lock your car down for the runs? Sweet results there!

4 straps at the back, criss-crossed over the rear-end, caulked in the front and strapped.  They have chains in the floor that they attach the straps to.  It moves around a little at first, but then settles in and didn't move again.  On an early pull he actually smoked the tires on the dyno rollers, they tightened the straps and that cured it.
