New Front End
« on: May 02, 2013 - 10:41:15 PM »
Hey all,
Ever since I bought my Cuda last year I have been wanting to install a new grill and paint it to match the body color. Well finally got all the parts together and sent the car into my buddies body shop. I think they did a great job matching up the paint. I love the way Brad's 70 looks with the amber lenses for the high beams so I decided to do the same and also the driving lights to match. I like it...wondering what you guys thought? Like to thank Jon Soullier at Roseville for all his help sourcing out the grill, lights and chrome (also installed the chrome around the rear valence and below the door windows)- great people to deal with!! I spent all day cruising around with my wife only problem was her seat doesn't lock into place so she was rebounding back and forth whenever I stomped on it and slammed the brakes. She kept saying "you got a hemi in there" and laughing. No Hemi but the 440 goes very well!

Gorgeous car you have.

I still like matching headlight colors more. All 4 amber would look better but likely not legal.
I know it is in (or was) in Europe.

I like the orange grill ....I hate the look of the yellow high beams and road lamps :eek4:

I would also ditch the 70 rear spoiler for the correct 71 spoiler. :2cents:

Looks great and your wife sounds like a hoot!  As long as we're making suggestions: How about either a body color urethane bumper or painted metal one maybe cut & tucked in close?  I love the look of the soft bumper cars, ran with a Hemi Cuda back in the 70's that had them.

I thought the rear spoiler was a 71? Whatever, when I was a kid there was a guy who had a white 71 with the same colour lamps and high beams....made an impression I guess!!

I was trying to find a good representation of what the differences are between the 70-71. Can anyone post a picture of the difference between the two? I never noticed this when I bought the car but mind you I'm no expert either LOL! Seems strange why the guy I bought the car from spent all his time and money on the resto and made this mistake. Maybe he preferred the look of the 70 go-wing over the 71 gull? :dunno:

The 71 tips are more pointed to the rear, the 70 has more symmetrical tips.
