Big Mutha Thumpr Cams: Old School Sound vs. Performance?

the most radical Big Mutha Thumpr cam comes closest to the cam I have in the Roadrunner right now.  I definitely want to keep that old school "Hitting a lick" sound in the Bird and wouldn't mind something a little less radical but still bumpy sounding for the Barracuda.  Modern engines make killer power but don't have the 'soulful' hot rod sound that cars back in the day did.  Anyone know how much if any performance I'd be giving up in either a high HP big block or hemi motor for the Roadrunner if I ran one of these cams?  Anyone run one of these cams or one that sounds similar in a power brake / AC / etc. car?  The Barracuda has all that so I know I have to keep vacuum decent which may be difficult with too much overlap like I'm betting these cams have in spades.  Is anyone else concerned about wanting their car to sound 'old school' or just me cuz I'm an old guy?

A different muffler may help you get the sound.
Also larger exhaust pipe diameter helps.
I did have the two stage flowmaster mufflers once, but they were too loud inside the car.
But that was 10 years ago.

I do understand that modern cams make more power overall, my son's Mustang GT is crazy fast and is rated at 420 Hp.  But as good as it sounds and it does sound good, it doesn't have that bad-a$$ lope that the Roadrunner does.  Just like the Harley sound & shaking kind of defines these bikes, to me the same defines late 60's early 70's hotrods.

got a neighbor with a 318 clone roadrunner.  Sounds bad to the bone, but I think
its mainly due to the exhaust system, and flowmasters.
