Why no interest? Is this car priced too high?

First of all let me say that I own a 73 Challenger and love the 72-74cars.  That said, 72-74 cars are a tougher sell.  They aren't sought after like the 70-71's. That's part of the problem.  Is the car priced too high? If it doesn't sell then it's priced too high.  If you want to sit on it for a long time, someone might come along who will pay what you are asking.  If you need it gone, then you'll need to think about lowering the price.

I think you would have an easier time selling a car that was in worse shape. Your car looks really nice but for $17,000 the buyer will have to be someone who wants to drive it as is. If someone is looking for a project, they will buy something in worse shape that they won't be afraid of modifying. It takes a lot of money to restore one of these cars.  It makes it hard when you have to spend a lot on the car to begin with. People do it all the time with the 70-71's but not so much with the 72-74's.

:iagree:  what he said!  Also that color might be holding back some? Not a real desirable shade?  I'd guess in-between 8-12K ? You have to remember finished collectable  cars are not bringing the money they used to 5-10 years ago. Last year at Carlisle I saw a 71 Cuda with a Hemi for 48K and it didn't sell.   In the current market you can buy a finished( big block or small block) car cheaper than you can build one. That fact has a trickle down effect on project cars.
Not trying to beat you up, just stating the cold hard truth?

Thanks I appreciate the input. I agree with you. I think its funny that Hagerty classic car values this car (a #4 car) at 24K.

There's a difference between what a car is worth, and what you can sell it for :)

I agree with what everyone else said, you're probably a little high.  It's a later year and the small engine option and a column shifted auto don't help either.

It does look like a great car for someone though :)

Me too! It killed me when he said they would probably crash it. Its a shame to see that happen. I wanted to sell it but they gave me the $13K so now im on the hunt for my 70 or 71 big block car. Anyone got one for sale? I got 20K to spend.

Did you happen to ask how they found your car for sale? Always wondered how that worked. Do they search the forums? Lol..... Shame the car will be WHACKED ~~~~
