A replacement front frame rails available aftermarket. Sounds like a few members have replaced them. I found repair kits that weld a channel over the rotted rail. And old rails cut out of cars are out there. Any comments on repairing verses replacement. The left front rail is cracked over the wheel.
First, let me say that is one nice looking car. As for the frame rails being replaced, if you are really concerned with originality, the aftermarket repair kits aren't supposed to look so great. They will be a good repair though, they are made thicker. If you want original appearance, then you'll prbably need to score a donor car to get them cut out or find some already cut out. The chances of that are very slim since a rust free E-Body is worth too much to cut up.
Check out this web site & look at all of the photos they have, especially the ones of the 1969 Road Runner work. It's an amazing amount of repairs they did.
http://www.autorust.com/I'm in the process of taking more pictures of my car, a 1968 Coronet 500 convertible, so I can send them to this shop. I sent a bunch already, but they asked for more of certain areas of the car. They can work up a rough estimate for you from the photos & a lot of the work they do is structural rust repairs, no finish & paint work. If my estimate on the Coronet comes in reasonable, I'll be trailering it to them for a hands on, more accurate estimate to save it. It needs both front frame rails & torque boxes worked on, but the rest of the bottom side seems decent.
Good luck with yours it should be nice to drive it, Bob
BTW, here's my rolling wounded:
