Newbie first Challenger
« on: May 10, 2013 - 09:19:43 AM »
hey everyone. my name is Anita from MA. I just picked up a plum crazy 1970 Challenger. She is in excellent shape. the previous owner restored her. I am planning to make a few changes like add power steering, tilt steering and black seats. they put in black carpet and a new black headliner but went with white seats. If anyone can recommend a place to get some seats that would be great. i am always looking for new places to get parts from.

My other project

Congrats...

A car with white interior would have come with black carpet...there wasn't white carpet available.

what i meant was that the carpet was replaced. the white seats do not look good with the purple paint and black interior. ;o)

Welcome. I'm new from OH. This is my second Challenger. Bought my first one in '72 was a 318. My current was recently bought.  It's a '70 sublime R/T.

Looking great!

I'm a fan myself of purple with white interior, but true, you have to go with white headliner and door panels for the full white effect.  If not, then go w/the full black interior.

If the seats are in excellent shape, you may want to trade + $ for someone with black seats?  or...consider white door panels/headliner, but that is $$$.

Thanks everyone. In general I am not a fan of white interiors. It looks really weird with black panels and headliners. They are new seats. Previous owner restored the car. I have all his paperwork.

I will post more pics soon.

Firstly, welcome to the site; secondly, nice car and thirdly, Legendary make very nice black covers for your seats and you can either trade or SEM paint the white interior panels.

fortunately the only things in the car that are white are the seats. i do think i want to change out the seats for a different style. the previous owner paid decent money to have them redone but i am just not a fan of white. ;o)

Good opportunity to put in some nice reclining seats, like some Recaros or Porsche seats.  Then you'll just have the rear seat to redo (and maybe match the pattern of the fronts you get???).
