    Gas Cap Seal

    Does anyone sell just the seal for the gas cap on a Cuda, or do I need to buy the whole cap?  I have an original cap but the seal is bad.

    I made my own, Rubber supply house in town "General Rubber" bought a small square & cut it out, works great  :2thumbs:

    Do you have a photo of the gas cap seal? Are you talking about the rubber insert inside the top of the flip-top? I have a reproduction and the rubber part is too small to fit inside the filler neck.

    Actually, it's the seal inside the cap itself.  And on Barracuda's the gas cap is behind the license plate so no flip top.  Thanks anyway, though.

      that's because it still reqires an actual gas  cap

    True, but I always thought that was really stupid! Way back when I bought my flip top cap, i thought it was missing the filler tube seal. :banghead:

    I took my cap to the auto parts store, matched it up with one off the shelf in the STANT section and raided the seal off that one.  only about 3.99 for the cap.

    Just picked one up from Autozone and swapped the seal.  Worked like a charm.  Thanks for the help.
