Dumb brake work question

Sorry...not sure how else to describe it...LOL

Anyone have any tricks as far as how one could temporarily cap off the two rear brake lines while I have them disconnected to swap out the rear end housing and maybe convert drums to discs?

I have an adjustment valve inline for the rear but pretty sure it does not have a 100% "off" setting.

I will have the rear end apart for at least several days, my guess.....and if I run into trouble a week or two.  I am trying to avoid having the system slowly bleed out those two rear lines and then having to bench bleed the MC, etc.

I had thought about maybe leaving the lines attached to the rear cylinder and just suspending the whole backing plate etc somehow, or maybe separating the cylinder form the plate and leaving that hooked up....

But wondering if maybe there is some sort of cap or fitting I can use that would be easier instead?

I've used clamps like these on rubber lines (fuel, brake, etc)

I usually use 2 set at 90* angles from each other to really prevent leaks.  I've also seen people cut the finger tip off a latex glove and stick it in the hose and then clamp it for additional sealing.

I'm not sure how long I'd leave them on there as I'd be worried that long term might damage the lines.

Yep, just clamp off the rear brake hose. Take the lines loose at the "T" and remove the axle vent bolt.

If you have a good parts store or hose shop around you can buy plugs for the lines. 3/16 inverted flare plug for the small lines.

This is exactly what I did when I was changing out my rear-end and had the brakes disconnected.
Advanced Auto had the right flare plugs.

.....so  just to be clear --- you disconnected the metal lines on the axle at the distrbution block there and plugs the holes in the block right?
