green arrows point to the clip...and I wouldn't call them "C-Clips". They are like Spirolox Retaining Rings.

SO, the clip/ring just mash up against the housing end somehow?
I was told
"Most housings are not straight. The snap ring allows the bearing to wiggle around inside the housing like a stock wheel bearing. It is much more forgiving than the first generation Green bearing with the solid, crimped on retainer. In addition, because the crimped on retainer is not in the correct location, it causes the axles to be inserted deeper into the spline which will preload the thrust block inside the differential.
If the caliper brackets are designed correctly, the snap-ring will install 1/8" away from the housing end, and you do not need to remove the thrust block."
I understand that with the caliper adaptor plate, the whole deal you show will be further out of the housing....
What happens, though, if you use green bearings with the drum brakes? Or cant you?
