Work finished week of March 19th
« on: March 19, 2005 - 04:53:39 PM »
ok, since my Birthday is next week, and I just celebrated 11 years with my Chally, I decided to buy her new rims and tires.  The bald, mismatched 14" Canadian Tire Hockey Pucks just weren't cuttin' it.

The pics start with a comparison.  Old on the left, new on the right.  Can YOU see the difference??

p.s. Sorry for the pics, but it was dusk when I finished, and the lighting was not good.

pics are below, made smaller by April (thanx April!)

Dude - those wheels remind me of something out of the Mad Max movie. I like the original rallye look myself but those look slick!

Mike,

those cost about the same as a repro set of Rallyes, but I was going for an all black n green look for the car.  I felt that the rims looked kinda like black rallyes.  I like them, except for the tell-tale blue/red stripes of American Racing wheels.

Well I got a couple hours today to try to get something done on the car.  So my next major step is the installation of glass which unfortunately I did not remove from the car.   I started with the back side windows with the installation of the glass.  Got one done anyway!!  Yeah!!  I also installed the battery brace and dust shield on the trans.  Plus finally put the tires back on the car in hopes of having it back on the ground soon!!  Still haven’t decided what setup I going to pick for wheels.  If we don’t have water falling from the sky tomorrow . . . I may try to get the car outside for some good pics!

4C,
I guess I'll be the first to give you some crap. Those Rally wheels look a whole lot better with center caps on them. :grinyes: Do you have them? I went with dark argent, but I'm thinking of painting them light argent just because that was a 70 thing. I really can't decide what looks better.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
