Newb to Mopars
« on: May 19, 2013 - 01:06:03 AM »
Hello everyone. I am new to these forums and new to the muscle car world. I recently inherited a 72 cuda with a 440/4spd. Ive been told it has a cam in it but I do not know how big. Just recently got the car started, it had not been started in 3 yrs. I didh ave to replace the starter and the battery first thing. I have plans to cleanup the motor area with chrome and billet and repaint the block and body in the engine area.

i plan on installing a holley 750 or 850 dp carb and edlebrock performer intake, tti 1 7/8 polished ceramic headers and 3 inch exhaust, march pulley system and new hoses etc. any insight you all may have would be greatly appreciated. and I will continue to do my own research on this site. thanks for any help. this car is mainly going to be a take it out once in a while and eat some rice burners!

heres a few pics of my inheritance......

Welcome to the group. Nice clean looking car. Have fun with it. Do a little research and see how original it is before you start modifying it much. It is your car and you can do whatever you want to it but it could be worth a lot more if taken back to original.  Just something to look into before you start down any path. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome to the site. I'll give you 10:1 odds that once you get it running right you won't be able to take it out "just once in a while".

That is really nice.  I owned a 72' back in the day, white w/ black stripes.  I loved that car.  I tried just scanning in a pic but not working right. Oh well, have fun with it.

Welcome, looks like a fun car!  Since this is not a numbers matching 340 Cuda (440 not offered in 1972 Cuda) you don't have to worry about originality.  So great car where you can make the mods you want without concerns about hurting the value of the car.

Welcome
I would suggest buying the Holley Street Dom intake instead & a Proform 850 , you will have a tough time fitting the RPM intake Under a flat hood .
