1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I named mine so people will know which one I'm talking about in conversation.  But I guess "hardtop" and "convertible"  isn't really much of a name . . . .  :dunno:

It's the opposite for me my friends call me Cuda Mike. I have no name for my car. Except the time I put the hooker headers on after the motor rebuild. I had several names.

Same with me - my Challenger is just the Challenger,  and my classic Mini... is just Mini. Simple, but maybe is it also because here in Europe it is not very common to give names to our cars. :dunno:

My wife named mine as she said I was cheating on her with the car (spending more time with it).   Her name, "Sophia"...

Can't say I've ever named a car, but it certainly is a popular past time. I can recall in the late '70s to early '80s, it seemed like every other Camaro at the track had "Desperado" airbrushed on it somewhere.  A vist to any pro touring forum will show about 95% participation rate in naming their projects. All the pro builders seem to provide names and the proliferation of reality shows has really driven the point home as every car on every episode has a name.

My kids named my car too.  I used Super Blue 72 as my name on the forum but they were the first ones to actually call my car Super Blue.

I kinda thought Dodge did Ok naming them & have left it alone

But Dodge called them Challengers in the same way that male children are called boys and feline pets are called cats. Any given boy or cat also has a name that identifies that particular iteration.

My car was called the Millenium Falcon when I was in high school, and now I call her Valkyrie.
